Role overview

A lean manufacturing operative works in a production environment using lean principles to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and maintain quality standards. At level 2, apprentices learn the core tools of lean thinking - such as 5S, standard work, and visual management - alongside practical manufacturing skills.
